The family-run Hotel Alpen Residence is located in the centre of Ehrwald, at the foot of the Zugspitze. It offers spacious rooms, free WiFi or wired internet access, and free parking.
The Alpen Residence features a large spa area with an indoor pool with a contra current system, various saunas, a steam bath and hot tub. Massages, beauty treatments, steam and inhalation baths and aromatherapy treatments are also offered.
In winter the ski bus stops right in front of the hotel. The nearest ski area is only 2 km away. A cross-country ski run is 500 metres away. The Zugspitzbahn cable car is 3 km away, and Garmisch Partenkirchen can be reached by car in 30 minutes.
In summer and winter guided hikes and mountain bike tours are offered. Billiard, table tennis, and tabletop football can be played at the hotel. Archery facilities are nearby, which can be used free of charge. A bow can be borrowed for a small fee. Aqua gymnastics and Nordic walking are also offered at Hotel Alpen Residence. A 9-hole golf course is 1.5 km away, and guests of the Alpen Residence get a 20% discount on the green fee.
